Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I present, at long, last, the incomparable oatmeal raisin cookies from the MS Baking Handbook. Why, oh why, did I ever waste oats, raisins, and precious time on any other recipe?  There’s oatmeal raisin cookies…and then there’s these oatmeal raisin cookies.  Maple syrup adds depth to the sweetness, and the coconut–the coconut!  No one really realizes it’s there–the texture of the cookie effectively hides it–but it brings so much to the party.
