I finally got around to making cookies to send with the socks I finished weeks ago. The cause of the delay: internal struggle. On one hand, I wanted to make Maddie something of decadent chocolately-ness, and this recipe from the Test Kitchens cookbook certainly fit the bill. On the other hand, any culinary endeavor involving two and a half bags of chocolate chips (1.75 lb, if you’re wondering) should not be undertaken lightly.
It turns out that 1.75 lb of chocolate makes for a lot of cookie dough. I now have an abundance of cookies on Day 1 of mine and Anion’s Diet of Epic Dietness. There’s a certain skinny young man in New Jersey who could do with a few dozen, but I’m out of cardboard boxes, so the remainder will be taken to campus tomorrow to cement my relationship with my new research group.
