I figured I’d branch out and try a new oatmeal raisin cookie recipe for the SaRG/PRG cookout, instead of my usual Martha Stewart one.  I should have known better than to mess with “a good thing.”  These cookies, from the Test Kitchens recipe, are good, but they lack the depth of flavor of the maple syrup- and coconut-laced MS version.  The ATK book did recommend using nutmeg instead of the traditional cinnamon.  I couldn’t bring myself to make oatmeal cookies without cinnamon, so I used both; so I still don’t know if nutmeg is better.
